$PHEW Staking Guide: Plans, APY, Locks and Early Unstaking

Staking $PHEW means locking your tokens in a staking plan to earn more $PHEW. This guide states the plans exactly as published in the Phew documentation at docs.phew.pro: the four plans, their rates and locks, how rewards are paid, and what happens if you leave a locked plan early. It does not promise returns, because staking rewards are a rate, not a guarantee of profit.

The four staking plans

There are four plans. The longer the lock, the higher the rate. Rewards accrue linearly, and you can stake straight from your presale allocation the moment you buy.

PlanAPYLock
Flexible8%None — unstake any time
30 days25%30 days
90 days60%90 days
180 days120%180 days

The 180-day plan pays the highest rate in the documentation, up to 120% APY. The flexible plan pays the lowest, 8% APY, and has no lock at all. The choice between them is a choice between return and access: a locked plan pays more but you cannot withdraw the staked tokens until the lock ends without paying the early-unstake penalty described below, while the flexible plan lets you unstake any time.

How staking rewards work

Staking rewards are paid in $PHEW, funded from the dedicated staking-rewards allocation: 15% of the 1 billion total supply, or 150,000,000 $PHEW. Because the total supply is fixed at 1 billion, yields come from that stated bucket of supply rather than from new issuance. The stake panel shows your projected earnings before you commit, so you can see the expected reward for the plan and amount you choose before you lock anything in.

Earned $PHEW is added to your claimable presale allocation. Rewards accrue linearly, which means they build up steadily over the lock period rather than arriving in a lump sum at the end. Staking plans and rates are set by the protocol and can be adjusted, so the rates in the table above are the published rates at the time of writing, not a permanent promise. Check the live stake panel on phew.pro for the current rates before you stake.

Staking is one of three ways $PHEW holders earn in the Phew design. The others are a share of trading fees — 30% of every trade’s 1% fee goes to $PHEW holders, with holder fee sharing activating in the Q1 2027 rollout — and activity rewards, including 500 $PHEW for launching a token and 2,500 $PHEW when your token graduates. For the full token picture, read PHEW tokenomics explained and the tokenomics page.

What happens if you unstake early

Leaving a locked plan early costs you some of your rewards, not your tokens. The documentation states this plainly: the early-unstake penalty applies to rewards only, and your principal is always safe and returned in full. Flexible staking has no lock and no penalty at all, because there is nothing to leave early.

That distinction is the most important sentence in this guide for anyone choosing a lock. The risk of a long lock is not losing your staked $PHEW to a penalty; it is the opportunity cost of having those tokens locked while the market moves, and the loss of some or all of the rewards if you exit early. The documentation does not state the exact size of the early-unstake penalty as a percentage, so this guide does not state one either. Check the stake panel before you commit, because that is where the current terms are shown.

APY is not a promise

APY describes the reward rate while a plan is active. It is not a guarantee of profit, and $PHEW’s market price can move against you. A 120% APY paid in $PHEW is worth less in dollar terms if the price of $PHEW falls by more than the rewards add, and worth more if the price rises. That is true of every staking programme, and the documentation carries the same warning: staking plans and rates can be adjusted, and APY is a reward rate, not a profit guarantee.

Before staking, verify the contract on the audit and contract page and read the general principles in the crypto staking guide, the presale terms in the PHEW presale guide, and the risk section of the documentation. Also check the FAQ and the roadmap: holder fee sharing, presale claims and the first rewards distribution are all tied to the Q1 2027 rollout, and the roadmap marks anything not yet shipped as planned, not live. For how to buy the $PHEW you want to stake, see the how to buy page.

Frequently asked questions

What are the $PHEW staking plans?

Flexible at 8% APY with no lock, 30 days at 25%, 90 days at 60%, and 180 days at 120%. Rewards accrue linearly and are paid in $PHEW.

Can I stake $PHEW I bought in the presale?

Yes. You can stake straight from your presale allocation the moment you buy, and earned $PHEW is added to your claimable presale allocation.

What happens if I unstake early?

You get your full principal back. The early-unstake penalty applies to rewards only. Flexible staking has no lock and no penalty.

Where do staking rewards come from?

From the staking-rewards allocation: 15% of total supply, or 150,000,000 $PHEW. Total supply is fixed at 1 billion, so rewards come from that bucket, not from new issuance.

Is the APY guaranteed?

No. APY is a reward rate while the plan is active, not a profit guarantee. Rates are set by the protocol and can be adjusted, and $PHEW’s market price can move against you.
