What Is PhewSwap? Bonding-Curve Trading on Robinhood Chain

PhewSwap is the trading side of Phew. It is where tokens launched on Phew are bought and sold, first on a bonding curve and then, after graduation, in a standard decentralised exchange pool. This article explains how that trading works, what it costs, and what the numbers on a token page mean. The facts come from the Phew documentation at docs.phew.pro.

PhewSwap in one paragraph

Phew is a token launchpad on Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663). Anyone can launch a token in a single wallet transaction, and trading opens immediately — there is no waiting period and no private allocation. Before graduation, every token trades on its bonding curve: buys push the price up, sells push it down. After graduation, trading continues in the token’s decentralised exchange pool. That whole flow — launch, trade on the curve, graduate — is what PhewSwap covers, and it is live on mainnet now.

Two principles run through the design. First, Phew never holds your funds. Every launch, trade and claim is a transaction your own wallet signs and approves. Second, the market structure is set by the protocol, not negotiated per token: the same curve, the same fee and the same graduation rule apply to every launch.

How bonding-curve trading works

A bonding curve is a price formula built into the token’s trading. There is no order book and no counterparty to match with. When you buy, you pay into the curve and receive tokens at the curve’s current price; the purchase moves the price up. When you sell, you return tokens to the curve and receive the underlying asset back; the sale moves the price down. The price at any moment is whatever the curve says it is, based on how much has been bought and sold so far.

That is why early trades move the price more than later ones, and why larger trades move it more than smaller ones. The token page shows this as price impact: how much your trade size moves the price. It also shows the current price, the market capitalisation (price multiplied by circulating supply), the curve progress toward graduation, and the trading volume over the last 24 hours. Read those together before trading, not in isolation — a low price on its own says nothing about whether a token is cheap, and a high volume day says nothing about tomorrow.

The 1% trading fee: 70 / 30

Every trade on Phew pays a 1% trading fee, split two ways: 70% to the token’s creator and 30% to $PHEW holders. Creators claim their accumulated fees any time from the token page or their profile. The 30% holder share is not live yet: holder fee sharing activates with the Q1 2027 rollout, according to the documentation and the roadmap. Until then, the split is enforced by the PhewCurve contract, which is the bonding-curve trading engine, and creator fees wait in the FeeEscrow contract until creators claim them.

The fee is the same for buys and sells, and it applies to every token on the platform. There is no separate fee tier published in the documentation, and no fee discount is stated for $PHEW holders, so this article claims neither. Network gas is separate from the 1% trading fee: you also pay gas on Robinhood Chain, in ETH, for the transaction itself.

Graduation: from curve to DEX pool

A token graduates when its bonding curve completes. For standard tokens, that means the curve raises 1 ETH. USDG-paired tokens graduate at 2,500 USDG raised, and stock tokens at $2,500 equivalent raised. At graduation, three things happen. First, the raised funds seed a real liquidity pool, and that liquidity is locked permanently — nobody can withdraw it, including the creator and the Phew team. Second, the token moves to a standard Uniswap v4 pool, which any wallet, interface or aggregator can read and trade, not just Phew. Third, the creator keeps earning 70% of trading fees, and graduation itself earns 2,500 $PHEW in rewards for active participants.

Graduation is a mechanical milestone, not a quality signal. The documentation is explicit: graduation only confirms the curve raised enough to seed a pool. It does not guarantee future liquidity, price, volume or any kind of exit, and plenty of graduated tokens still go to zero. Treat a graduated token the same way you would treat any other token: check the contract address, the liquidity, the holders and the trading history before you buy.

Quotes are estimates, not guarantees

The amount shown before you sign a trade is a quote, not a guarantee. The price moves with every trade, so what you receive can differ slightly — especially on large orders or fast-moving tokens. Review the transaction preview in your wallet before signing, and remember that the quote, the fee and the price impact are all calculated at the moment you look, not locked in until your transaction is confirmed. That is true of bonding-curve trading generally, and it is why the documentation warns traders to check before they sign.

Frequently asked questions

What is PhewSwap?

PhewSwap is trading on Phew: tokens trade on a bonding curve from launch, then in a Uniswap v4 pool after graduation. It runs on Robinhood Chain and is live on mainnet.

What are the trading fees on PhewSwap?

Every trade pays 1%, split 70% to the creator and 30% to $PHEW holders. Holder fee sharing activates with the Q1 2027 rollout. Network gas is separate.

When does a token graduate?

Standard tokens graduate when the curve raises 1 ETH; USDG-paired tokens at 2,500 USDG and stock tokens at $2,500 equivalent. Liquidity then locks permanently and the token moves to a Uniswap v4 pool.

Can I trade a graduated token outside Phew?

Yes. Graduation creates a standard Uniswap v4 pool, readable by any wallet, interface or aggregator that supports Robinhood Chain.

Do I need $PHEW to trade on PhewSwap?

No. The documentation does not require holding $PHEW to trade launched tokens. $PHEW is the protocol token: holders earn a share of trading fees once holder fee sharing activates, earn staking rewards, and will govern the protocol as it decentralises.
